Tokyo (Part 1. Andon Ryokan Hotel)

My handbags brand GLUSH/ attended a trade fair RoomsLINK Tokyo and thus I had a work trip to Japan last week. It was my 7th or 8th time to Tokyo but every single time it’s magical. So much is happening at various corners – a few days weren’t enough to explore.

I’m gonna split up the sharing into different parts here, starting with this interesting hostel-like hotel called Andon Ryokan Tokyo Hotel, 5mins walk from Minowa Station. Slightly further out from the city center, but it’s just 30mins train from Shibuya.

This is the entrance of the hotel, note the lights – it’s like a living installation – rooms with lights on will show from the outside of the building.

It is on a beautiful quiet street within a residential area.

Your flipflops at your door… all guests have to share bathrooms, as the rooms are just a room… see below.    rooms_01

I’ve never stayed in a self-service hotel but this was kind of fun =) They have a jacuzzi as well on the 4th floor but too bad I had a rush schedule every day and didn’t try it out.

The amazing part of the building is the roof! These steep stairs are the way to the top.

We brought our breakfast up (yes, self-serviced) and this was the view, overlooking Skytree Tower.

Tokyo Panorama Table it was!
